About Boswell Consulting

Brad Boswell is a government relations expert with over 20 years of lobbying and strategic political consulting experience. His expertise covers local, state and national policy and he is well-versed in navigating a complex political environment and high-pressure situations to support and strengthen client objectives.

Brad’s extensive lobbying experience includes a diverse range of issue areas including: health care, technology, tax and fiscal policy, environmental policy, transportation and general business. He deftly navigated a contentious legislative battle with the insurance industry and organized labor to ensure his client, a technology-based transportation network – was protected from onerous and costly insurance requirements. Brad was also part of a team of dedicated government relations operatives who passed a multibillion dollar transportation package in Washington. Boswell Consulting clients are private and non-profit. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Washington benefited from his efforts to secure $250,000 for its summertime academic mentoring program. And with the American Institute of Architects, Brad prevented harmful changes to state building code that would have changed energy efficiency requirements to the detriment of green building goals.

An ongoing discipline for Brad is the cultivation and activation of coalitions that lend their voices and give influence to his clients’ legislative objectives. For example, he successfully coordinated a steady drumbeat of message delivery from technology companies of every size to targeted lawmakers. The resulting echo chamber helped demonstrate the critical nature of the issue writ large and ultimately secured $40 million in funding for the Clean Energy Fund.

Brad divides his time between Seattle and Olympia, Washington, but his clients are headquartered everywhere in the Puget Sound region to Atlanta to North Carolina. He earned his degree in Environmental Policy from Western Washington University, has served on a number of community Boards, and has appeared on panels to share expertise and insights about the political landscape in Washington state.
